About Me

Hello, I’m Grant McPherson and 17 years old. I live and go to school in Arcola. I’m new to Douglas County compared to most of the CEO students this year who have lived in this county for most of their lives. I have lived here for about 4 years or so. I’m hoping to learn a lot about the community, and how all the businesses work in a rural area. I’m horribly indecisive and don’t have any public speaking experience. I’m hoping to flesh out these skills, so even if I don’t go into the business field I will have learned something that I will use every day. I like building computers, and I’m currently planning to be a software engineer. Making friends from other schools, learning more about Douglas County, and working together as a group is going to be super fun. My goal for my senior year is to try to do new things, and this is my first step. My favorite movie is “The Pursuit of Happiness.” It all about how a man who even when he’s poor and homeless becomes a stock broker to provide for his son. “You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period,” this inspires me to chase my dreams, and not let anything stop me!
